"We live not so much in a cosmos as in a cosmogenesis; that is, a universe ever coming into being...moving from a lesser to a great order of complexity and from a less to a great consciousness...There exists at every level a basic tendency towards self-organization."

Excerpts from The Joining
~ A Fantasy Wedding ~
Our marriage had started out like a perfect dream, with a wedding held in a magnificent Tudor mansion on the Malibu cliffs above the Pacific Ocean.
Joy permeated the very air as the people attending gathered to share this magical event. They were prominent authors, speakers, seminar leaders and a smattering of progressive thinking Hollywood types.
As I floated down the aisle to the piercingly beautiful voice of Amanda McBroom singing her famous song, The Rose, I felt deeply moved by the words: "I say love, it is a flower, and you its only seed."
I arrived to stand with my chosen mate and Rev. Marianne Williamson, in a beautiful ceremony, joining us together as husband and wife.
Certainly, we held the hope of many in the gathering that romantic fantasies can, and do, come true....
~Little did we know at the time that after a five year marriage our lives would take us in very different directions~

Divine Relationship
The phone was ringing as I returned home the next morning after a quick dash out for a cappuccino at the local drive-through. It was Qua calling from a motel in town.
"Hi, just wanted to fill you in on my emotional evening with Terri." (former girlfriend)
He highlighted the conversation from the previous evening and his growing concern that Terri was very confused about his intentions and feelings.
After listening carefully, I said, "I've noticed that men and women are usually viewing relationships from a very different place. It becomes apparent in situations like this. Our expectations and needs are held right under the surface and these hidden agendas bubble up when the relationship ends or changes form. If both parties involved are not willing, or able, to tell the truth about their feelings, it can become very messy indeed!"
Qua pondered this for a moment. "I'm not sure what to do next. The inner voice of my Spiritual Council is clearly leading me away from Terri and has been for quite some time now. I guess I'll give her another call to see if I can get her to understand. I want to support her. I just don't know how. I'm leaving in a couple of days and want this cleared up."
"Qua, when you call Terri why don't you see if she would meet with both of us before you leave town. Then we could talk it all out in one session. What do you think?"
"Maybe," he reluctantly replied. "She may not want to meet with the two of us together."
"I'm sure she won't want to. But, for me, it is time to be firm and insist on getting all of our feelings out in the open and stop getting everyone in town involved."
I immediately began to worry about where this whole thing was leading. In our talks over the past week we had been viewing life through a bigger picture; attempting to decipher the messages being received through dreams and inner voices. Looking at possible ways we could serve humanity together through joining forces and sharing our individual spiritual journey and visions for the future... Both of us felt that we were together for a higher purpose yet to be revealed and did not want physical intimacy to detour us off course.
I thought this latest chain of events felt like a very small story; one that was uncomfortable and totally off-purpose...
